To engage in architecture and design’s challenge to create new, effective designs of livable spheres for today, is to maintain architectures’ power of attraction.

We have to understand: Architecture cannot be generated exclusively out of its own resources. In consequence, architecture is in need of its enemies, people whom it outrages and who are opposed to it and disciplines that seem to dissolve architecture or seem to make it redundant! Thus architecture has to draw upon resources external to it, beliefs which, at a given moment in time, possess considerable power of persuasion, which are striking ideologies or aesthetics, inscribed in a cultural context in which architecture is developing. Architecture needs to draw on them, even when they are hostile to it.
Accordingly: Be positive! Be willing to let you surprise you by others (and yourself)!

Embrace the manifold identities of architecture! Embrace the architectures of software-engineers & coders, the architectures of politics or of interaction design, of gene design, etc.

Embrace the relationality of space! Embrace architecture’s powerful construct outside its limits of self-description (as the art of building).

Create concepts! Translate social, economic and political facts into multiple forms of spaces! Create words, names, vibes, ambiences, forms!
